Hi Erin!
Yeah I couldn't finish Meet Your Meat either but I made it pretty far through. It's funny you mention Skinny bitch .. I bought the book years ago when it first came out but I wasn't in that place then (I was an animal abuser ie meat eater then ;)

I haven't seen or heard of Future of Food but I'll netflix it. King Corn is available on netflix too if you have that.

Food Revolution had me pounding my fists at certain points and crying at others (pig farmer). That book sealed the deal with no meat for me!

Thanks so much for the comments. I'm trying really hard with the recipes .. some successes and a lot of failures/retries lol

If you have any other book/movie recommendations .. bring em on :)

Food Inc, In Defence of Food and the Food Revolution are also on my TOP 10 LIST of recommendations that I feel EVERYONE needs to read/watch. The Food Revolution truly changed my life and outlook on food and health. Skinny Bitch is another recommened read for me, regardless of its bad press. It’s a no BS look at what we fill our bodies with and why its crap. Plus, I love a good, down to earth perspective and a few naughty words makes it fun to read and not overly heavy.

Meet your Meat made me cry, as did some of Food Inc. I cannot deal with the sound of pigs screaming. It breaks my heart and hurts my soul.

Really interested in King Corn now and will mission out to rent that this weekend.

Have you watched the Future of Food? Another kick in the face reality check.

Great blog – Can’t wait to try out some of your recipes :)
